The cost of full mouth dental implants can vary depending on the procedure, as can the perceived pain vary between different people. Dental implants are placed in the jaw bone using a gentle surgical technique. You will not feel any discomfort or pain while the implants are being fitted.
Local anaesthesia will be used during the procedure and most patients report that getting implants fitted involves less pain than a tooth extraction. Finally any discomfort following the procedure can be managed with standard pain medication. Hence most patients report feeling less discomfort with implant surgery than with a tooth extraction procedure.

What are Dental Implant supported dentures?

Normal dentures that you are probably suffering with are usually attached to your gums with an uncomfortable and messy adhesive. Therefore for some people dentures can be painful and inconvenient. If you have lost all your teeth there are two main options to fix your denture in a more permanent and comfortable way. Either having a removable denture supported on implants, or fixing full arch bridgework to your stable fitted implants. Both treatment plans have many long term advantages over your conventional denture.
The most cost effective full mouth treatment
A removable denture supported on two or more implants is probably the most cost effective way to overcome your denture problems. Your new prosthetic teeth will be attached to fixed stable anchors or a bar that is used to support the removable denture. These dental fittings will be installed on top of the implants that have been placed in your jaw bone. In addition you will easily be able to remove the prosthetic for cleaning and it will be very stable when you chew food.In comparison to a removable denture retained on implants, the fixed full arch bridgework can only be adjusted or removed by a dentist. Therefore this is a more permanent solution for people that no longer wish to live with the many inconveniences of removable dentures. In normal cases the fixed bridgework is retained by four or more implants. Depending on how long you have all your teeth missing you may have lost some bone in your jaw. Following an X-ray or CT Scan your dentist might see that there is a requirement for a bone grafting procedure. Fortunately a bone grafting can often be avoided when following an All on 4 procedure.
What is the All on 4 procedure?
The All on 4 treatment concept is an advanced surgical dental procedure that was developed by Nobel Biocare. Not all dental clinics in Birmingham are qualified to carry out this technique. An implant surgeon should have special training and dental technologies available to successfully carry out the all on four procedure. This treatment replaces all your missing teeth with a full dental bridge supported by only four to six implants. With fewer implants needed, overall treatment time is reduced and you will probably not require bone grafting.
The procedure is often called “teeth in a day” because you can benefit from a new set of implanted teeth in just a day visit to our specialist clinic. The implants will feel and function just like natural teeth. Other procedures can often take many months to complete with frequent appointments and temporary dentures or bridgework while you wait for healing to finish.
